» Introduction to the Latin language

The course aims to provide the necessary knowledge and competence to approach to any Latin test – with particular attention to the biblical and liturgical ones. Frontal lessons, the direct approach and the translation will be connected for a sound knowledge of the language.

» History of the Ambrosian chant

On the basis of the testimonies of late old and medieval age – without neglecting its fortunes during the modern age -, the course tackles the education, the peculiarity and the historical development of the monodic-liturgical repertoire of the Milanese Church within the frame of the other old repertoires and in the relationship with other kinds of chant (Gallican, Morarabic, Byzantine)
